6 patients 4 fly outs 3 helicopters 1 fatality in Herndon

All was quiet in Herndon until about 6:00pm. C shift just finished dinner
when alerted to Barron Cameron and Town Center Parkway for one
vehicle into a pole. Ambulance 431 arrived on the scene, after leaving
Reston Hospital, confirming entrapment. Other units arriving to assist
were Engines 404, 425 (LZ), 431 (LZ) Rescue 439, Medics 404, 425,
Truck 425, Ambulance 412, 436 and several command officers. Fairfax
1, Eagle 1, and MedSTAR were the flight teams who transported the
victims to Fairfax Trauma. Rescue 439 worked aggressively and was
successful to extricate the two trapped victims in the front seats. One
patient went to Reston with mild injuries and another was a trauma
code who passed shortly after the incident. Our prayers and thoughts
go out to the family involved in the accident.
